This wonderful little museum, just south of Fort Bragg, has a huge display of handcrafted jewelry made from glass recovered from local beaches as well as a collection of other marine artifacts. Established by Capt. Cass Farrington, the museum is well worth a visit to learn about the history of Glass Beach, which gets its name from the tons and tons of discarded glass from Fort Bragg households that were dumped on the beaches until the practice was stopped in the 1960s. The glass, pounded by time and tides, eventually tumbles into small shiny pieces. Access the beach from the bottom of Elm Street.
