Class Description:
Overshot is a weave structure based on twill weave. It allows you to expand the visual image of your design by creating pattern blocks. It consists of a warp and two wefts. One weft is fine similar to the warp creating a plain weave base struc- ture. The other weft is traditionally heavier and weaves floats that design the pattern. It is traditionally used for coverlets, but the structure can have many other applications. This class will present 4 overshot weave structures threaded side by side in a gamp format. Students will be responsible to bring their yarn for warp and weft. Advice will be given to guide students on choosing a pattern for a larger project they can weave on their own. This is an intermediate class.
