Hosted by SIP Mendocino in Hopland, this series is an opportunity to learn about basic wine tasting techniques and how wines pair with classic dishes. Three classes will be offered, all with a different approach.
February 28th kick off the series with a toast! The class will cover basic wine tasting techniques paired with classic flavors such as smoked salmon with lemon tarragon whipped cream, caviar and chives served atop a classic sourdough crostino. Served with Scharffenberger Brut Sparkling Wine.
Flights and Bites
March 14th will feature small plates paired with two or three different wines to show how dynamic pairing can be. Many different wines can be delicious with the same meal – roasted cauliflower soup shooter with sharp cheddar grilled cheese, or Pork Sausage and Brie Stuffed Mushrooms…just to name a few!
Cork n’ Board
Five charcuterie combinations each paired with one wine with be featured on March 28th. Each course will be served on a personal tasting board. The decomposed style will allow Colleen to discuss how each element pairs with the wine and how they can pair together as the guests build each bite.
