Our last show of the year! Join us at this New Years Eve-adjacent event for a night of sweaty revelry and American Roots music. Come dance 2024
Pete Okie Weiss (yes, his middle name is Okie) hails from Austin, Texas, where he played keys & accordion with local legends Gumbo Ce Soir, The Gritones, and Leo Rondeau. Now based out of Oakland, Okie has assembled a rhythm section featuring members of soul band Emily Day & the Knights and honky-tonkers The Country Business. The result is Okie Weiss & the Zydeco Playboys, a new zydeco band that knows how to walk the soul-country line and keep that dance floor packed ’til closing time.
Opening the night are The Deep Thicket Dwellers, a four-piece band rooted in Anchorage AK and Oakland CA, blending Bluegrass, Old-time, Gypsy Jazz, and John Hartford’s spirit, with music orbiting around the fiddle. Their “Hillbilly Jazz” style brings mountain soul and improvisational warmth, reflecting their cross-coastal roots.
Doors at 5pm. Music at 6pm. Sliding scale cover $10-$30.
Beer, wine, soft drinks, and delicious coastal comfort food from the kitchen will be available for purchase.
