In his own words:
“I approach woodblock printmaking with the sensibility and experience of many years as a Plein Air landscape painter, and constant photographer, always pursuing compositional possibilities while investigating content. I intentionally draw inspiration from the works of the historically great artists of the world, conscious that the broader context of world art can add layers of precedent, innovation, and relevance to the fabric of my aesthetic. Travel is essential to my work, and I often include books on my favorite artists’ work in my gear. I thrive on the on-location experience of exploring the world on foot, searching for the best images to represent my adventures.”

In addition to the First Friday event, Walt will demonstrate his printmaking process at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 4. Come by and see what goes into the creation of his beautiful woodblock prints.
