MacKerricher State Park, just north of Fort Bragg, offers a wide range of habitats for birders to enjoy, from beach to forest to wetland to sea. Watch for Downy Woodpeckers, Western Scrubjays, Golden-crowned Kinglets and so much more.

Lush, primeval Montgomery Woods is where you will find the world’s oldest and biggest redwoods, and the many birds who dwell in the tall trees. Look for the Cedar Waxwing, the Pacific Wren, and the majestic red-tailed hawk.
